Baking - Opening Notes

Children's and Junior Baking Section - Opening Notes

rules & conditions:

  1. Exhibits to be in place before 10.00 am. on Show morning.  One entry per person.
  2. Entrants must accompany their exhibits at the Show.  
  3. No late entries accepted. 
  4. Entries must be collected between 4.00 & 4.30 p.m.  After this time Exhibits will be discarded. 

Flapjack Recipe.

Ingredients
225g/8oz Porridge Oats
125g/4ozs Margarine
125g/4ozs Brown Demerara Sugar
75g/3ozs Golden Syrup

Preparation Time: 10 Minutes

Baking Time        : 20 Minutes

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4
  2. Grease and line and 8"/20cm square tin
  3. Melt the margarine with the sugar and syrup
  4. Stir in the oats.
  5. Turn into prepared tin, smooth the top and press down well.
  6. Bake for 20 to 30mins
  7. When baked, cool in tin for 5 minutes, cut into fingers.
  8. Cool completely before removing from tin.
