The aim of the class is to give recognition to Breeders who breed suitable mares to produce top quality foals with performance potential.

Rules & Conditions:
1. Entries are confined to Mares 8 years old and under registered in the Irish Horse Register with the breed codes ISH, RID or ID; Horses must be sired by a stallion that is classified as Approved/Preliminary Approved/Supplementary Approved/Recognised/Preliminary Recognised in the Irish Sport Horse Studbook or a Stallion that is classified as CLASS 1 in the Irish Draught Horse Studbook.
Mares must have both sire and dam recorded on their passport; The class is also open to the progeny of Weatherby’s Thoroughbred Stallions that are not classified in the Irish Horse Register.
2. All mares must have a foal at foot by a recommended for breeding (approved) Stallion or preliminary recommended for breeding Stallion or class 1 (R.I.D.) Irish Draught Stallion or by a stallion that is registered in Weatherby’s Non Thoroughbred Register.
3. Each Mare & Foal will be judged as a Unit (Mare 40% Foal 60%).
4. The Mare’s passport will be inspected before judging commences at both the qualifiers and the Final & the Foal’s I.D. Cert at the Final. Exhibitors failing to produce a passport will be debarred from competing.
5. Two Mares & Foals may qualify if the judges and the I.S.A agree that the standard is high enough.
5. All Foals must be led at both the qualifiers and the final.
6. Mares & Foals qualified for the Final are not eligible to enter any Classes at the Show other than a qualifying Class for other Finals.
7. These Rules should be read in conjunction with the Irish Shows Association Rules.

2. Dams passports must be produced at qualifying shows and at the final. Foals passports must be produced at the final.
3. Foals must be led at all times.
4. One foal from selected shows may qualify for the final if the judges and the I.S.A. agree the standard is high enough

2. The progeny of Registered Connemara Sire & Registered Connemara Dam.
3. Exhibitors in both the Qualifier and the Final must have the CPBS Passport ready for inspection prior to entry to the judging ring. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification.
4. The CPBS Registered Gelding must be between 128cm to 148cm in height
5. Two Ponies may be selected at each qualifying show provided the judges & the ISA agree the standard is high enough.
6. Ponies qualified for Final are not eligible to enter any other class at Ballinasloe Show
