  • Entries are confined to Irish Draught Colt Foals, the progeny of a Class 1 (RID) Irish Draught Mare & by a class 1 (RID) Irish Draught Stallion.
  • Dam’s passports must be produced at qualifying shows and at the final.
    Foals passports must be produced at the final.
  • Foals must be led at all times.
  • One foal from selected shows may qualify for final if the judges and the ISA agree the standard is high enough. E
  • Exhibitor must be a member of an I.D.H.S. Branch.
  • One of the judges at the qualifying show must be from the I.D.H.S. List.
  • Foals qualified for Final are not eligible to enter any other class at the Show.

Rules and Conditions

  • Entries are confined to Colt Foals the progeny of a Dam & Sire registered in the I.H.R. by a recommended for breeding (approved) Stallion or preliminary recommended for breeding Stallion or class 1 R.I.D. Irish Draught Stallion or by a Stallion that is registered in Weatherby’s Non Thoroughbred Register.
  • The dam’s passport must be shown at qualifying shows and at the final if the foals passport is not to hand.
  • One foal from selected shows may qualify for the final if the judges and the I.S.A. agree the standard is high enough.
  • Foals must be led at all times.
  • Exhibitors at the qualifier must present the dam’s passport for inspection prior to entry to the judging ring and at the final if the foals passport is not to hand. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Where a foal is produced by an embryo transfer method, the dam’s passport must bear a declaration dated, stamped and signed by the stallion owner and accredited practitioner. Where AI is used, state the date on which the dam was covered and the name of the stallion.
  • Foals qualified for Final are not eligible to enter any other class at Ballinasloe show.
  • These rules should be read in conjunction with the Irish Shows Association Rules.
